SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - Dec. 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Celebrating their 101rst year as the region's premiere business organization, the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce has planned three business minded events to bring information directly to local stakeholders, members and potential area investors.

The first business meeting of the year takes place on Tuesday January 13 beginning at 1130 am at the Holiday Inn Manahawkin with the economic impact and job creation discussion with the Honorable Mayor Don Guardian of Atlantic City. Named one of the most powerful officials in the state, Mayor Guardian will share his years of non profit and economic development experience as well upcoming plans for Atlantic City that could impact businesses in our region. $20 includes buffet lunch, networking and program with advance RSVP.

Wednesday January 14 at 830am at the Southern Ocean Chamber Office, the chamber board is hosting a New Member orientation to introduce the newest members how to make the most of your chamber investment.  Back by popular demand, start your morning with coffee, bagels and chamber 101 course of what a professional, regional chamber of commerce does for the promotion of the community and to connect businesses with resources to help them grow. To round out the week, in partnership with the Small Business Administration and Richard Stockton College of NJ, the Southern Ocean County Chamber invites all current and interested business owners to "Meet the Lenders" on Thursday January 15 from 4 to 7pm at the Stockton College Manahawkin Site 712 East Bay Avenue Manahawkin. This program is designed to provide individuals that are in business or thinking of starting a business with information on the business loan programs and technical assistance programs offered by the SBA. Leading area bank lending officers will be on hand to discuss their role in the SBA’s Guaranteed Lending Program. Lenders will discuss what goes into a good loan proposal, how to increase your chances of getting a loan and how to get through the loan application process. Following the presentations, representatives from the SBA; the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and local SBA Lenders will be available for individual consultations. Several lenders will be available to meet with business people to discuss lending needs. Business counselors and mentors from the New Jersey Small Business Development Center will be available to review your business plan.  There is no admission fee, but space is limited so RSVP if you plan to attend.
