United Premier Soccer League Announce Ozzy’s Laguna FC as New Team Member for 2015 Season

Dec. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- December 13, 2014 – Torrance, CA – The United premier Soccer League announced today that Ozzy’s Laguna Futbol Club (www.ozzyslagunafc.com) have joined the UPSL and are officially a new team member of the Southeast Conference for the 2014/15 UPSL Season. The UPSL currently consists of two conferences covering Los Angeles County which includes Los Angeles, Orange County Inland Empire and the LA Valley.

The UPSL runs a 2014 fall and winter schedule with playoffs that concludes in March, 2015 along with its newly created UPSL Pro Premier Division which season runs from May through June. Ozzy’s Laguna FC will join the OC Crew, PSA Elite, Banning USA, OC Stars, Santa Ana Winds, Cal Dream, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, La Maquina, and Glory United which make up the Southeast Conference. And the Western Conference which is made up by the L.A. Wolves, Santa Monica Sporting FC, Penmar LA FC, Santa Clarita Storm, San Pedro Monsters, So Cal Troop, Las Vegas High Rollers, and Del Rey City FC.

Daniel Collazo, General Manager of Ozzy’s Laguna FC stated, “Ozzy’s Laguna Futbol Club is one of the first Professionally Established soccer teams based out of La Puente, Ca and we want to ensure the longevity of our club for the long term for our community, players and fans which is why we have become a member of the United Premier Soccer League. We have found the high level of local teams play in the UPSL and will give excellent completion and raise the quality of our game. With that being said, we are excited to be an active and current member of the UPSL and look forward to some exciting matches with some of the other great local UPSL teams.”

The History of Ozzy's Laguna FC started in the year of 2001 when the Munguia Brothers partnered up in what could become a dream, a fantasy that you would see in a movie. The Name was Only Laguna at first when brother Osvaldo Munguia joins based on his own name added his name to the team and decides to take on several championships within his city and became popular among certain rivalries between high schools and colleges and even in pro level at a point. The region of La Puente/Basset had its surroundings and little by little began expanding in highly competitive way. Teams like LA Blues and other local forts were in the area. Ozzy’s Laguna FC then understood to look for a higher expectation for the club by incorporating an excellent Staff that have in the past shown good results and now being on this side is expected to make the name live on and be an example to their academy in their home base today in the city of Santa Ana where Edu Castro and Salvador Moran with professional resume's put the example coaching the first team and Edu Castro Leading the youth as Pedro Magallon opens doors for the development of athletes for the future of the city of Santa Ana. The owners Osvaldo Munguia and Hugo Camacho which have brought Daniel Collazo to be the general manager is expected to deliver a professional chemistry between the group and slowly lead the team on the marketing side with intense friendlies and a lot of union between players and fans with the academy showing the pattern of family. Ozzy’s Laguna FC plans to participate in the U.S Open cup and will work hard to earn its right to go. We have heard highly of the League and its Competitive teams in it. We are excited to be a part of this project.  Ozzy’s Sopes is the main Sponsor for the team and team colors are mainly all red with an alternative blue kit.

UNITED PREMEIR SOCCER LEAGUE (UPSL)

The (UPSL) United Premier Soccer League was formed in 2011. The USPL currently operates 22 teams all in the Southwest with a projected 30 plus teams in 2015. With the addition of additional teams in the Southwest Region, the United Premier Soccer League is Southern California’s fastest growing men’s amateur League and is focused on the build out of a Promotion-Relegation system connecting American Soccer. The UPSL also runs the UPSL Pro Premier Division which will run May through August each year. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining UPSL minimum standards.
