Dubai Auditions for the award winning classic Broadway musical ANNIE

DUBAI MEDIA CITY, UAE - Dec. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- From the producers behind the UAE’s biggest sell out musicals such as ‘’The Wizard of Oz’, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’, Oliver!, the award winning The Sound of Music and Disney High School Musical comes the sell out smash hit musical ANNIE – running for nineteen unforgettable performances over two unmissable weeks at the Madinat Theatre, Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, 2-18 April 2015.

This wonderful musical ran on Broadway for six years and won the prestigious Tony award for Best Musical. This year sees the release of the remake of the film version by Sony Pictures starring Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx.

It’s the story of little orphan Annie, a boisterous but sad eleven year old and her adventures in the depression hit 1930’s New York City. Annie runs away from the clutches of the scheming Miss Hannigan, the orphanage manager, into the open arms of the famous billionaire Oliver Warbucks. The scene is set for a fantastic journey as Annie meets a whole host of new friends, including The President of the United States and chases her dreams if one day having her own parents. This fantastic production features all the hot songs including ‘Maybe’, ‘Tomorrow’, ‘Easy Street’, ‘Little Girls’ and many more.

In April 2015 ANNIE will be live on stage at Dubai’s most popular theatre venue, The Madinat Theatre, Madinat Jumeirah running for two weeks of performances. This fully staged professional production will feature carefully selected local talent alongside performers from the West End. ANNIE sold out its two-week run in Dubai in 2009 and received fantastic reviews from the critics and audiences alike.The production will be directed by John Payton with musical direction by Philip Shute.

The Producers are seeking UAE based dancers, singers and actors aged 7 to 60 to star in our fantastic production. Auditions will be in Dubai and are free, fun and open to anyone aged 7-60 who has the talent and desire to be part of this fabulous experience.

The production is produced in association with The West End Stage Experience, which is the original and best provider of theatre training and performance experiences in the UAE with eight highly successful productions to its name including The Wizard of Oz, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Oliver!, The Sound of Music, Disney High School Musical, Annie, Disney High School Musical 2, Fame the Musical and Disney’s Camp Rock. These productions have been seen by an amazing 65,000 people in the last few years and give our performers the chance to experience a real taste of working in the professional theatre in a fun but disciplined environment.

For five fun and busy weeks, the cast rehearses and performs the show under the supervision of our team and develops skills in acting, dancing and singing as well as gaining excellent and valuable experience in professional theatre. There is a training fee applicable for the successful auditionees which covers license costs, three weeks of rehearsals and training workshops and the performances.
