Designbook Featured in Burlington Free Press and on WPTZ News Channel 5

BOSTON - Dec. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- Designbook is starting to make waves in Vermont, featured in both the Burlington Free Press and on WPTZ News Channel 5.

Designbook, which entered beta testing two weeks ago, is a platform where entrepreneurs can find both capital and people to help their businesses grow.

"We're a social networking environment where people can find contributors to help them build a team of people to take that business model and product concept to a stage where it's ready to get funding," Pollak said.

Cairn Cross, co-founder of Shelburne venture capital firm FreshTracks Capital, likes what he sees in Designbook.

"A lot of what they're building into their process is the ability to do those things which you have to do before you raise money," Cross said. "You have to get a team assembled, get collaborators, and all that. I like that they're building all that functionality at the front end."

Cross also sees a possible benefit for FreshTracks once Designbook is fully functional, in terms of vetting potential investments for his fund.

"It might be a way for companies that are going to pitch us to get on that platform ahead of time and have something in a better standardized format for us," Cross said.

The company's co-founder believes Designbook will continue to grow and eventually impact the start-up world well beyond the borders of the state, and even the nation.

"And we have visions of bringing this nationally and internationally and tapping into talent pools that will complement and grow Vermont businesses and businesses throughout the country over the foreseeable future. It's huge. It will change the way entrepreneurship is defined," said Clark.
