Third Annual Year of Wellness Returns to Help Another Local in Need

Fitness Formula, Ltd.'s (FFC) third annual Year of Wellness (YOW) contest is in full swing. Next year's winner will not only receive personalized fitness instruction, assorted FFC amenities and a prize package from contributing sponsors, including a piece of in-home Life Fitness equipment, but also nutritional guidance, new to the program.

YOW awards one winner access to all nine FFC health, sports, fitness and spa locations, to achieve his or her healthy lifestyle goals. YOW 2015 is presented by Life Fitness, and the prize package includes contributions from KIND Health Snacks, Protein Bar, NovaCare Chicago, SABRE, Mario Tricoci Salon & Spa, FormuLife Rx, Tasc Performance, Jockey, Greater Than and Ortanic - a prize total valued at more than $15,000.

YOW 2015 nominations will be accepted on www.ffc.com/Year-of-Wellness through Monday, Dec. 15. Nominees will encourage friends and family to vote for them online through the FFC website (one vote per person). Five finalists will be determined by popular, qualified online voting. One winner from the five finalists will be chosen by our panel of sponsors. The winner will be notified in early January.

The first two YOW winners have different, yet equally inspiring stories. The inaugural winner, Quinetta Taylor, suffers from chronic kidney disease, and before YOW was considered too overweight for placement on the Illinois transplant list. Her story of optimism through her health struggles exemplify the importance of healthy living. This year's winner, Dawn LaFleur, was nominated by her daughter, who was proud of the weight loss her mother had already achieved through diet alone. Through their individual YOW experiences, both of these amazing women not only lost weight, but also forged friendships and gained appreciation for the importance of integrating fitness into a healthful lifestyle that expanded beyond the gym's walls.
