Follow on Google News | Live Nation and House of Blues to host concert by accused rapist R. KellyBy: S NV Coalition for the Well-Being of Women & Girls In light of the videotape and allegations by the young women, Kelly was charged with 21 counts of producing and distributing child pornography in Illinois. Kelly also was charged in the state of Florida with child pornography. Despite the evidence against him, Kelly was never charged with rape and has never been held accountable for his sexual predation of young girls. Receiving no justice in the court system, many of the families of the young women filed civil suits against Kelly of which were settled. Unlike Bill Cosby who also has had allegations of rape levied against him in recent weeks and who has been sanctioned with his television shows being cancelled, Kelly continues to play to sold out concert audiences and was even nominated for an NAACP image award while awaiting trial on the child pornography charges. What image is the NAACP awarding? The Southern Nevada Coalition for the Well-Being of Women and Girls has launched a campaign to encourage the House of Blues to cancel Kelly’s upcoming concert in an effort to hold him accountable for his sexual predation of young women and girls. “This is not just about Mr. Kelly. This is about protecting one of our most valuable and most vulnerable populations, our young girls. These young girls are the mothers of future generations and we must do everything we can now while they are children to ensure that they are mentally and emotionally healthy as adults” said Leisa Moseley, director of the coalition. The Southern Nevada Coalition for the Well-Being of Women and Girls is an advocacy organization working to enact and strengthen local, state and federal policy that will promote the well-being of women and girls in Nevada and around the world.
