By: Michael-Ann Russell JCC COMMUNITY CHANUKAH CELEBRATION Tuesday, December 16, 5 – 6:30pm A free community event including great entertainment by the popular T’kiya Klezmer Band, lighting of the Chanukah menorah, holiday activities for children, and complimentary traditional holiday-oriented foods including latkes (potato pancakes) and “soofganiyot” AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM FAMILY PIZZA & LATKE CHANUKAH Tuesday, December 16, 5:30-7:30pm The JCC’s elementary school age- AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM participants and their families will enjoy a light dinner and loads of Chanukah family-related activities. SENIORS CHANUKAH LUNCHEON Wednesday, December 17, beginning at 11am Our older adults will enjoy a delicious lunch, entertainment with DJ Simon, and Chanukah songs presented by the JCC’s PreK classes. Tickets: $13 if purchased in advance / $20 at door ECD CHANUKAH LIGHTS PARTY Thursday, December 18, beginning at 6pm The JCC’s Early Childhood Development Center’s families will join together for an informal holiday dinner, lighting of the Chanukah menorah, and holiday entertainment. CHANUKAH SHOW Adding to the spirit of Chanukah are performances of CHANUKAH AT BUBBIE’S, an original play written by Evelyn Goldfinger, director of JET (Jewish Educational Theatre), a branch of the JCC’s Cultural Arts Theatre (J-CAT). Within this special holiday show, the cast will present a story entitled, THE INCREDIBLE DREIDEL, by Shmuel Kunda, rewritten and adapted for the stage by Abi Linker and Evelyn Goldfinger. This family-oriented presentation, performed by a 3 member cast, is designed to convey the meaning of the story of Chanukah to younger audiences. Tickets are available for a community presentation on Tuesday, December 23, at 10:30am, at $5 per person – the show is recommended for grades PreK4 – Grade 1. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.
