Is Modern Art About Popularity Or Skill?

TORRANCE, Calif. - Dec. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Fine Artist, Tim Mueller, will be hosting a solo art show “How Do I Look?” with ten 4 x 4 ft. paintings based on the current generation’s latest movement known as the #SELFIE. After the event, he will deliver these paintings to some of the top art galleries and museums of Los Angeles. Each painting will arrive in a delivery truck driven by elegant men dressed in suits, bowties, and gloves. They will carry a document that announces the gifting of an original Tim Mueller painting to the gallery/museum. The chosen entity is free to do as they please with the delivered painting, as long as they fulfill one request of the artist: The museum/gallery emails him their plan of action. Will they display it? Will the controversial paintings be sold to art collectors? Tim Mueller will soon be faced with the ultimate test as to whether the galleries and museums base their decisions on popularity or skill.

The “How Do I Look?” art show will be held on December 13, 2014 at 23238 Normandie Avenue, Torrance, CA 90502 from 6pm-9pm. The first ten people to arrive will receive a limited edition print by the Artist. There will be one special painting on display that will go to the highest bidder of the night. The art happening will be held in a chic and art-influenced warehouse with an inviting wine bar.

Tim Mueller has been an artist since he was a child. He has created paintings for celebrities like NBA Laker’s Star Nick Young and Los Angeles Rapper YG. Year after year Tim Mueller discovered ways to put controversy into the art world with his expressive pictures. In 2013, Mueller personally delivered twenty original paintings to private homes on Christmas Eve, taking on the roll of Santa Claus.
