BRADENTON, Fla. - Dec. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- The 2015 Chevy Colorado has been named the 2015 Motor Trend Truck of the Year winner. In its first year back in production, the new mid-sized Colorado beat out larger competitors including the recently redesigned 2015 Ford F-150. This new pickup truck is currently in stock at Cox Chevrolet in Bradenton, Florida.

The size of the vehicle was one of the pickup's most distinguished features according to the judges. They singled out the Colorado out for balancing its fuel-efficient and navigable mid-sized configuration with the horsepower and towing capacity that are typically the measure of a pickup.

According to the judges, the new Chevy pickup truck not only stands as an alternative to larger competitors, it also wins out over other pickups in its segment. When Motor Trend conducted comparison testing pitting the 2015 Colorado against the similarly-sized Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier, the Colorado came out ahead in all the most relevant metrics.  An editor at Motor Trend commented that “The Colorado has the best steering I've ever experienced on any truck, full stop.”

Value was another deciding factor. The two trims of the 2015 Chevy Colorado that were considered for Truck of the Year honors were the two least expensive models in the competition. An extended cab work truck sells for $23,300, a stark number when compared to heavy-duty models that retail for over $70,000. Another editor at Motor Trend remarked that "This is a really good, honest little truck. I can see it being very popular with small businesses...”

The 2015 Chevy Colorado has two available powertrains. A 2.5L four-cylinder engine displaces 200 hp and 191 lb-ft of torque while a more-powerful 3.6L V6 can release 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. When properly equipped, the pickup can tow 7000 pounds and fuel economy reaches as high as 27 mpg in the city. Extended and crew cab version are available, and cabin technologies include a MyLink infotainment system, smartphone integration, and a 4G LTE wireless internet hotspot.

In addition to being the 2015 Motor Trend Truck of the Year, the 2015 Chevy Colorado also offers best-in-segment towing, payload, and fuel-efficiency ratings. It comes in three trim levels and is available now at Cox Chevrolet, located near Tampa and Sarasota. Visit the Chevrolet dealership seven days a week to learn more and test drive the 2015 Motor Trend Truck of the Year winner.
