Top Travel Spots In Savannah, Georgia For Families

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Dec. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Savannah author Tara V. Thompson has released Anna’s Trip to Savannah, a new children’s travel fiction book.  In the book, eight-year-old Anna, her older brother, and their parents visit the city of Savannah, where Anna climbs to the top of a lighthouse, steers a ship down the river, and discovers the birthplace of the Girl Scouts.

Anna’s Trip to Savannah is an adventure-filled book that features many family-oriented sites throughout the Savannah area.  “I was inspired by the city itself,” author Tara V. Thompson states.  “Savannah has so many fun events and sites for families to explore that I wanted to share those adventures with kids who would be coming to visit with their families and kids who might only visit Savannah in their minds.”

Anna and her family are Cherokee Indians visiting Savannah as part of her mom’s work trip.  Anna finds adventure everywhere she goes, and she loves to try to beat her brother, whatever the game.  Ten-year-old Carter is a history buff (and a bit of a know-it-all, according to Anna).  Together with their parents, they explore Savannah and nearby Tybee Island while learning about the city’s history, sampling some of the area’s unique food, meeting new people, and, of course, discovering new adventures.

Author Tara V. Thompson has lived all over the South. In her new book, she combines her love of travel and Southern culture and food. As a kid, she loved reading books that took her to new places in her imagination. Today, she hopes to share that experience through writing books that explore some of her favorite places in the South. She currently lives in Savannah, Georgia with her family and two cats.
