DALLAS - Dec. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- A day spent on the links raised funds to help students in the Dallas/Fort Worth area learn more about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers. BravoTECH President, Andrew C. Jackson, presented the DFW Chapter of the Society for Information Management (SIM) with a $10,000 donation check earmarked for the organization’s STEM education initiatives, on December 1 during the organization’s annual holiday gathering at the Adolphus Hotel.

The money was raised at the Third Annual DFW Technology Invitational Golf Tournament, held in September at the Tribute Golf Course in The Colony, Texas. The annual event was founded in 2012 by BravoTECH as a vehicle for bringing IT leaders and vendors from the DFW area together to raise awareness of, and funds for, STEM education. In just three years, the tournament has raised more than $20,000 for SIM’s STEM education initiatives.

“We are humbled by the dedication and enthusiasm of the IT community for this initiative. The support and participation of the players, sponsors and donors continue to help make this event a success,” said Jackson.

The DFW Technology Invitational, targeting technology industry firms and their employees, provides an atmosphere for education, networking, and friendly competition while raising money for STEM education. Next year’s tournament is scheduled for September 24, 2015.
