Château Morrisette Winery Announces Joel D. Joyce As New Director of Sales

FLOYD, Va. - Dec. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Château Morrisette Winery announces Joel D. Joyce has joined its team as Director of Sales effective December 1, 2014.

A native of Winston-Salem, N.C., Joyce has more than 20 years of experience in the beverage industry. Based in Winston-Salem, he will oversee and direct the Château Morrisette sales team including Robert Longo, Western Regional Sales Manager, and Mike Howard, Eastern Regional Sales Manager, and will continue to expand the winery’s retail distribution.

“Given his extensive network and experience in the Southeastern U.S., Joel is just the person we need to help grow and expand our distribution,” said George Weldon, Château Morrisette’s General Manager. Château Morrisette recently expanded wine distribution into Tennessee and plans to continue expansion into other Southern states in the near future.

Previously, Joyce was the Eastern U.S. national brand manager at Southwest Wines, a New Mexico-based company, which represents more than seven wineries, including the top-selling Mimosa company in the U.S., Soleil Mimosa, as well as St. Clair Winery, Blue Teal and a variety of specialty wine products. He was responsible for selling a number of brands through distribution channels to major retailers in 20 states. In addition, Joyce spent the previous 11 years representing a number of wines and spirits as both a distributor sales representative and as a broker/sellers representative mainly in the South.

“Having come up through the ranks from route driver to national sales manager, I have a unique understanding of the beverage industry,” Joyce commented. “I am excited to bring my skills and expertise to Château Morrisette and to work with our sales team to increase wine sales throughout the South and beyond.” The winery currently produces 60,000 cases of wine annually and plans to increase production to 79,000 cases in the coming year.
