Charles Schwab Helps Promote Special Needs Camp with Donation to Foundation for Exceptional Kids

PHOENIX - Dec. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Charles Schwab, a leading brokerage and proponent of community charity, along with Managing Director of Specialty Trading Steven Hayes, are giving back to the community this year by making a combined donation of $3,000 to the Foundation for Exceptional Kids.  The Foundation for Exceptional Kids has been supporting children with special needs through therapeutic programming and by providing educational opportunities for their families and caregivers since 2006.  Their signature event, Camp Runamuk, provides children and their families with a unique over-night camp opportunity complete with bunk beds, cabins, and campfires in beautiful Oracle, Arizona each fall.  The generous donations made by Charles Schwab and Mr. Hayes not only assist with the costs of this valuable camp, but also provide assistance towards each family’s financial obligation.

Mr. Hayes, in addition to being an active member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, regularly contributes to Camp Runamuk as it “helps inspire special needs children and their families to achieve new heights.”  Donors like he and Schwab are critical to the success of this unique program and increase the accessibility for low-income families.  “Without donors like them, the level of support and therapy that this camp provides would be sorely limited.  We are very appreciative of both supporters,” says Foundation President, Jessica Irwin.
