Follow on Google News | The Housing Market Gives a Holiday GiftThe US housing market continues to improve, and as it does, homes are recovering value
By: Keller Williams Grand Rapids East As home prices rise, homeowners nationwide are regaining equity. In 2013, more than 3.5 million homeowners regained equity in their homes. The trend has continued in 2014, with around 314,000 homeowners regaining equity in the first quarter of the year. “The housing market has recovered faster and more significantly than anyone predicted,” says Donna Tashjian of Keller Williams Grand Rapids East. “The last couple years have been incredible, especially for homeowners who struggled during the housing crisis. Homeowners who were underwater just a year ago are discovering they aren’t any longer. Others are finding they have finally regained enough equity to consider selling.” The factors driving the home price increases, such as fewer distressed properties, low inventory, and high demand, have also created a “seller’s market,” in which seller’s find they have more options and influence in the real estate transaction. “It’s true today’s market is still very much a seller’s market,”Tashjian said. “The supply-and-demand ratio has balanced more recently as more homeowners and homes enter the market, but the inventory still doesn’t meet the demand. It’s a great time to sell a home.” As a Certified Distressed Property Expert® (CDPE), Donna Tashjian is specially trained to help distressed homeowners understand their situation and explore the options available to them. “No matter what your situation has been, it’s entirely possible that it’s changed. As the market recovers, homeowners have many new options out of a difficult situations,” Donna Tashjian has provided a free report entitled “Did the Holidays Come Early? See how much equity you earned this year!” which is accessible from her website www.donnahelpshomeowners.INFO End
