| ![]() We need more boats to sell, please!Forbes Boat Care's yacht brokerage success leaves the company looking for more boats to sell.
The company have revealed figures showing that through the autumn they sold 10 boats of varying shapes and sizes, including three different models of Westerly, a Trapper 500 and a Leisure 27. The boats sold represent a good variation of those they had listed, from 6 berth sailing yachts to a small GRP launch on a trailer. The next step now for the business is to replenish the stock on the brokerage listing, explains brokerage manager, Mike Forbes Snr. "Believe it or not the autumn has traditionally been our busiest time with the brokerage, and in 2012 we sold 12 boats in the same period. We generally try to maintain a list of around 25 - 35 boats on our website, which allows us to offer a top service to buyers, as the staff here know all the boats we have listed and can answer enquiries efficiently. But the success of the brokerage this autumn has almost halved the number of boats we have for sale, so we need to actively look for potential sellers. Hopefully this shouldn't be too much of a challenge, as we offer a no-sale-no-fee policy and so even people just wanting to test the market can put their boats on the brokerage with nothing to lose." Forbes Boat Care have been running their brokerage since 2007 and since then have developed partnerships with various specialists in the trade relating to specific types and makes of boat. The brokerage deals mainly with boats for sale in Scotland, but deals with enquiries from all over the world. End
