Starwood Associates Row for Egypt Children

ALEX, Egypt - Nov. 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Building on an outstanding success and long partnership between UNICEF and Starwood Hotels & Resorts  to help children around the world have quality education, Starwood Hotels Egypt have lately organized “ The Road to Awareness” ; an associate fundraising initiative that has been making a positive difference to children in the communities Starwood operates in since 2008.

For the 4th year consecutively, Starwood Egypt  with its  7  Sheraton &  4 Le Meridien Hotels organized a variety of fundraising activities to enhance the development and educational projects of the needy children, as well as extending clean water to rural villages. In 2014, a different theme was planned featuring a rowing competition between hotels on the Nile River where 11 boats representing 11 sponsors and 11 Starwood Hotels (Sheraton and Le Meridien) together with Max Fashion, Halwani Bros. , Sealed Air Diversey Care, Graphic Box, Coca-Cola, Splash Fashion, Pegas Touristik, Rotary Club Marine Alexandria -  Egypt Today, Magnificent &  Sports & Fitness Magazines and Baby Shop were floating on the Nile in a race favor Egypt needy children.

The race has been witnessed by our hotels’ associates, top executives including Hassan Ahdab, Vice President, Regional Director AFIO, Starwood Hotels and Resorts and Thomas Schoen, Area General Manager Starwood Hotels Egypt together with the general managers and executive teams. Rowing has been concluded by distribution of 3 winner trophies; gold, silver and bronze to Sheraton Cairo, Sheraton Soma Bay and Le Meridien Heliopolis consecutively and announcement of the fund raised, amounting to $ 10,000.
