Night Light, Inc. Wins Gold for Landscape Lighting at the 2014 Key Awards

LOMBARD, Ill. - Nov. 23, 2014 - PRLog -- Innovative designers of LED landscape lighting systems, Night Light, Inc., has won a Gold Key at the 2014 Key Awards for a recently renovated Highland Park residence. Night Light utilizes the latest technologies and decades of design and installation experience to achieve unparalleled results in artful landscape lighting.

The award-winning project features Night Light’s signature lighting approach called “moon-lighting” which sets them apart from other landscape lighting practitioners. The technique simulates the effect of a full moon filtering down through tree branches and leaves painting interesting shadow patterns on the ground and building façade. This specialized technique requires trained and certified tree climbers to mount individual light fixtures high up in the tree canopy – as much as 60’ from the ground, then aim the lights downward to optimize the patterning effect. As both designers and installers, Night Light utilizes custom-fabricated fixtures and LED technologies that provide decades of dependable service with low energy consumption.

Night Light’s award-winning design for the Highland Park residence, a modern tower-style home, accentuates the unique elements of the house and property – the white stucco façade, stone walls and walkways, tall shade trees, and a resort-like pool and spa environment. A combination of warm and cool light, along with specific techniques and fixtures – all utilizing long-life LED technology, creates an alluring ambiance for the outdoor living areas. At the front entry, the smooth stucco façade is the backdrop for leafy shadows projected by the moon-lighting fixtures. At the back, the focal point is the “floating” concrete bridge over the pool which is traced with light and reflects on the water’s surface.

This was Night Light’s first time participating in the renowned Key Awards program. Winners were announced at the celebration event hosted by the HBAGC on Friday, November 14. Dean MacMorris, Vice President of Night Light and the project designer/manager, accepted the award from the builder’s association.
