Nov. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- Vista Motorcycle hosts two annual events that give back to the military and the local North County community.

The reason for this Annual "Heart to Feed 100" is to honor of all the US Active Duty & Veterans who served their country and are in a difficult transition in their life.  Giving thanks and gratitude to those who serve us year round are part of the core value of both the team at Vista Motorcycle, the members of the American Legion Post 365, and founder of Sweet Marketing Solutions.

Therefore, the motorcycle riders from the local Vista American Legion posts and other riding clubs work in conjunction with Daniel Sweet from Vista Motorcycle and Debbra Sweet, from Sweet Marketing Solutions, to raise funds, raise awareness that there is a need to lend a helping hand to those who serve and protect us year round.

Together, these organizations dedicate time, effort and energy to raise funds and assemble all the ‘fixin’s for a full Thanksgiving meal which is hand delivered to these families a week before the holiday.

Vista Motorcycle, which has been a mainstay in the local community since 1979 recently underwent a change of management and ownership.  The foundation of this company was to always take care of riders and their bikes.  The new owners were long time clients of the repair shop and in the past year have done many things to help create an awareness that this company cares about riders on and off the road. Events such as this are one way they are successfully doing so.

Family centric and community oriented, the shop has created new community outreach events to those who also take care of our local area.  The Freedom to Ride event is one of those. The American Legion Post 365 is a neighbor to Vista Motorcycle. The mutual core values of these entities align in a way that has created some fun, much needed and heart serving events.

The "Heart to Feed 100" Charity Food Drive & Ride started out as a small idea Debbra Sweet had three years ago.   Inspired by a personal tradition she took part of while growing up (serving hundreds of people on Thanksgiving Day) – Sweet saw the alignment between the Vista motorcycle,American Legion Post 365 and her heart to take care of military families in need.

Her vision was to bring people in the community together in order to deliver all the provisions for a Thanksgiving meal to hand selected families in need.   The first year fed 25 families. The second year at 50.

This event is taking momentum and the collaboration of many hearts and many hands is enabling the group of riders who will be gathering Saturday morning, November 22, 2014- to deliver 100 meals to military families.

Staging takes place at Vista motorcycle located at 1155 South Santa Fe Avenue, Vista CA 92084, at 9 a.m on Nov 22nd, 2014.

Volunteers who will be participating will have an hour of a meet and greet, light refreshments and final organization of the caravans delivering the food to the two chosen destination locations.

50 meals will be going to hand selected families on Camp Pendleton.  The other 50 meals will be going to hand selected families on Miramar Base.

Each year the event coordinators are raising the bar. The vision of this annual event is to be able to have hundreds of people in the community come together to build the funds and allow this event to happen.  The other part of the vision allows for the recipient families to also increase the number.

Creating awareness of how the American Legion supports local families, military and former military is just one of the side benefits of the mutual event.  Where this event really shines through is being a way to bring locals who care and live with a life with a heart of service together.  Regardless of all walks of life this event allows the community to bond together in a new way to celebrate those who gave of their time in service to ensure we still have Freedoms.
