***** News Release ***** Community Announces Upcoming Launch of Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce FLUSHING, NY – Community leaders today announced the upcoming launch of the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce, which will take place on Thursday, December 11, from 6AM to 8PM, at historic Flushing Town Hall, located at 137-35 Northern Blvd, Flushing, NY 11354. "I am so proud to be able to be a part of the launch of the new Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce,” stated Assemblyman Ron Kim. “I look forward to working with the leadership of the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce to help our business owners and entrepreneurs and build a stronger economy for our community." Assemblywoman Nily Rozic said, "The establishment of a Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce will help continue the economic boom in Queens. I look forward to working with the Chamber to provide resources and services and help grow small businesses in our community.” “I support the creation of the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce because it will help small business owners with the resources they need to expand and grow. We are still living in a climate of overregulation that remains challenging for many small business owners, so the Flushing Chamber will be a welcomed addition to our diverse business community,” said Councilman Peter Koo. This launch event will officially kick off the Chamber’s membership drive for the coming year. Membership is open to any business or entrepreneur located in the Flushing area. “We are extremely excited to be a part of launching the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce,” stated Simon Gerson, Managing Principal of Gerson Properties LLC and Co-Chair of the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce. “There is no other neighborhood in the world as dynamic, diverse, enterprising, or captivating as Flushing. The business community here will benefit from the networking, education and advocacy that the Chamber will offer.” Peter Tu, Executive Director of the Flushing Chinese Business Association (FCBA) and a senior advisor to the Flushing Chamber, stated: “Flushing has prospered over the years, but we have not done enough to ensure a more inclusive and diverse economy. Our new Chamber will help non-Asian entrepreneurs better connect and integrate into our business community.” Chris Kui, Executive Director of Asian Americans for Equality and Co-Chair of the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce, stated: “The Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce seeks to foster the economic growth, inclusive diversity, and shared prosperity of greater Flushing through advocacy, networking, and education.” Sponsorship opportunities also exist for those interested in supporting the services and programs of the new Chamber.
