Nov. 16, 2014 - PRLog -- UAE, November 16, 2014 - The Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) has announced that eight leading Brazilian companies are participating in the upcoming latest edition of The Big 5 show, the largest construction exhibition in the Middle East, to showcase their most advanced solutions, generate leads for new customers, and gather regional market information and trends. More companies from Brazil are joining the exhibition from November 17 to 20, 2014 at the Dubai World Trade Centre amidst the flourishing bilateral relations between Brazil and the Arab states.

The 120-square-foot Brazilian pavilion at the venue’s Hall Sheikh Rashid will enable local, regional and international visitors and potential investors and clients to take a closer look at the extensive range of cutting-edge construction and building materials from the country. Brazil’s high interest in The Big 5 comes at a time when global exports of its building materials hit USD 4.94 billion. In the GCC region, the export value has so far reached USD 25.61 million. The UAE accounted for 57.4 percent of the total transactions to reach USD 14.71 million, followed by Saudi Arabia (USD 8.13 million) and Qatar (USD 1.27 million).

Dr. Michel Alaby, General Secretary and CEO of Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, said: “During last year’s Dubai event, six Brazilian companies joined thousands of exhibitors from all over the world. It was beneficial and fruitful experience as they were able to attain their strategic objectives successfully. This year, more organizations are participating in hopes of exceeding the 2013 accomplishments. Their participation signifies not only their plans to expand their business and meet new clients but it also reflects the growing outstanding opportunities in the Middle Eastern market. The Big 5 affords them an ideal platform to interact with potential investors and enter the thriving regional market. We are inviting all visitors to come visit the Brazilian pavilion located at the exhibition’s Marbles and Granites category.”

From January to October of this year, GCC imported mostly plywood and other laminated wood products from Brazil, with the transaction value hitting USD 3.46 million. These were followed by granite (USD 3.3 million) and appliances for pipes and boiler shells (USD 2.85 million). Brazilian export value for glassware for kitchen, articles of iron and steel, and parts of valves and pipes witnessed an exponential jump in 2014, increasing over 334 per cent, 1,268 percent, and 4, 312 per cent, respectively.
