LOS ANGELES - Nov. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA, November 14, 2014--- President and Founder Barbara Goldberg announced today that WELLS BRING HOPE will participate in #GivingTuesday --a global day dedicated to giving back on December 2, 2014.  Leading the social media fundraising campaign for Wells Bring Hope is actor Carl Weathers.

#GivingTuesday was created in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y, in New York City, in an effort to help people focus on giving back by creating a holiday to rival Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Since its inception #GivingTuesday has grown into a global movement with 10 international websites, 46 participating countries, and a partnership with the United Nations Development Programme. #GivingTuesday’s goal is to help change the world by celebrating generosity and dedicating one day a year to giving back.

Wells Bring Hope is the non-profit committed to drilling wells to bring safe water and sanitation to rural villages in Niger, West. Africa.  Niger is the poorest country in the world, according to the 2013 UN Development Index, and one of many places where contaminated water kills innocent victimes, most often infants and young children.

“We are thrilled and grateful that Carl Weathers will participate in #GivingTuesday
on behalf of Wells Bring Hope. We encourage everyone to participate in this monumental global effort to take action and give back to the charities and causes they support that help create a better world,” said Barbara Goldberg.

Carl Weathers is an actor and former professional football player. He is best known for portraying Apollo Creed in the Rocky film series, Dillon in Predator, Chubbs Peterson in Happy Gilmore, and Little Nicky in the television series Arrested Development.
