Landmark Home Warranty Settles In At New Digs
Landmark Upgrades to 25,000 Square Feet of a Fun, Friendly Atmosphere and Increased Determination to give Remarkable Service
Landmark’s new location is 25,000 square feet, which makes up the entire second floor of a building in Riverpark on 10600 South in Sandy. Moving from a 9,000 square foot office to this spacious workplace was a decision that the executive team made for the employees’ and company’s growth.
One year ago, the search for a new building began when Alma Jeppson, CEO and owner of Landmark Home Warranty realized that at the rate Landmark was expanding, they would soon outgrow their office. Jeppson said he picked the new spot for Landmark by asking employees what they valued most in a new space, and finding somewhere that matched those qualifications. Most of the responses were concerned with centrality of location, which is why Jeppson chose to stay on 10600 South – the road Landmark has been located on for the past 8 years.
“The new location was chosen as a central point for our existing staff as well as future Landmark Family members,” Jeppson said. “It provides quick freeway access as well as minutes away from a Frontrunner and Trax Station. Within short walking distance are various restaurants, parks, gym, trails, golfing, and many other amenities.”
Chris Smith, President of Landmark Home Warranty, said the move allows the company and employees the chance to grow even more – the executives say the rate that Landmark is growing they will fill the new space with 170 employees in 3 to 5 years.
“This move allows Landmark Home Warranty the much needed space to grow physically and mentally,” Smith said. “It also provides an incredible, fun and dynamic atmosphere for our employees to enjoy their time in the office. This move offers our company the avenue to hit our current and future objectives and vision.”
Jeppson said as he worked to design the new space, he was focused on bringing the Landmark element into the office. This focus was brought into play with every detail – down to the desk colors (white) and ceiling tiles (noise dampening).
“Within the work area we wanted to capture as much natural light as possible,” he said about the design of the floor. “This was accomplished by moving as many necessary offices/rooms within or near the core of the building and using a lot of glass.”
Jeppson said the focus of the floor is on the kitchen and break room area, instead of a boardroom like other offices.
“Our hope was to create a gathering place over food and games,” he said about the break room. “When you step off the elevator you will be greeted by the virtual assistant which will encourage you to grab a drink, play on the putting green or watch some TV while waiting for the person you are meeting with.”
