Atlanta, GA.  11/14/14 – The Dukes Foundation and Founder Horace Dukes honored for outstanding service to youth and community.


Horace Dukes, Founder & Chief Executive Officer of The Dukes Foundation was honored with The William Jefferson Jackson Award in the company of distinguished leaders including Turner Construction’s Executive Vice President by St. Augustine’s University Alumni Chapter in Washington D.C. on October 10, 2014. He was recognized for his visionary role and tireless effort in transforming the lives of many considered at one stage ‘at risk.’

In addition to the honor conferred on the Foundation’s Founder, The Dukes Foundation was recognized withOutstanding Community Service Development Award On October 22, 2014 by WELLS FARGO BANK for phenomenal work in community development, education, human service, culture and civic projects.

THE DUKES FOUNDATION currently serves Mentees in Middle and High School in the City of Atlanta, DeKalb and Clayton Counties. 28 Mentees are also enrolled in over 10 Colleges and Universities. The Youth Mentoring Program has increased the number of young men going to College especially underserved youth from urban minority areas.

Progress for each Mentee is measured through an evidenced-based mechanism.

THE DUKES FOUNDATION (CORPORATION), is an accredited 501 ©(3) Non Profit Service Organization that offers an effective mentoring program on a regular basis through support obtained from Professional, Business and Civic Organizations. Their mentoring program includes; Academic Coaching, Career Development Workshops, Wellness Sessions, Cultural Exposure Tours and Motivational Exercises that have contributed to the transformation of many lives.
