About: Ernie Francis Jr

Just old enough to hold a driver’s license in his home state of Florida, at the age 16, Ernie Francis, Jr. is already competing in his fourth full season racing cars.

At age 13, in 2011, Ernie made the move from karts to cars, piloting his Spec Miata to 18 Top Ten finishes, 10 Top Five finishes, 6 Podium appearances and 2 Wins from 18 races. In 2012, while 14 years old, he again demonstrated his tremendous talent by winning championships in both NASA (National Auto Sport Association) and FARA (Formula Automobile Racing Association), producing 32 Top Ten finishes, 26 Top Five finishes, 25 Podium appearances and 21 Wins from 34 races.

In 2013, at 15 years old, Ernie Francis Jr. was the youngest licensed professional driver competing in the Pirelli World Challenge Championships. Ernie Francis, Jr. captured top honors – as “Rookie of The Year” with numerous podium appearances and winning more races (7), than any other driver in any class. Ernie Francis, Jr. finished the season in Third Place in the TCB class with the proud support of his partners – Festivals of Speed, Breathless Performance Products, Racequip, Bullseye Powder Coating and Florida Lithographix.

2014 saw Ernie Francis Jr racing in the Pirelli World Challenge in TCA with a Mazda MX-5 and the Trans Am Series in TA3-A in a Camaro GTS car. Again, Ernie showed dominance in everything he raced in, getting 11 podiums out of 14 races in TCA; while also taking home 3rd in the championship. In Trans Am, Ernie made it to the podium 8 times out of 10 races. He also was able to win on 5 of those occasions and become the youngest ever Trans Am champion. Ernie could not have done so well this past year without the help of his partners- The Brain Injury Association, Breathless Performance, Racequip and CoolShirt.

2015 is still undecided for Ernie, new partnerships and sponsors will play a key role in what is next on his list to drive.
