New telecom M&A opportunities assessed at TMT World Congress in London on November 18

Nov. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Increasing opportunities for enhancing value through telecoms mergers and acquisitions will be assessed at the TMT World Congress (www.tmtfinance.com/world) in London on November 18 with a series of expert panels and keynotes.

Telecom, media and technology M&A volumes have surged in 2014 and are predicted to continue to grow in 2015 as convergence, consolidation and resurgent debt markets drives aggressive change in the industry globally. Key industry, finance and advisory leaders are meeting at the Congress, which is organised by TMT Finance, to assess the next wave of opportunities for growth, and potential obstacles.

“Convergence and consolidation are evident across the TMT industries,” said Enda Hardiman, Managing Partner, Hardiman Telecommunications, who will be presenting a keynote on TMT M&A Value Accretion and chairing the plenary TMT M&A Panel session at the Congress. “Across the generality of industries, the history of M&A as a mechanism of creation of enhanced value is chequered.  We consider why TMT may be held to represent a special case, and the factors and considerations which, if approached correctly, actually enhance value.”

The TMT M&A Panel features: Joachim Fleury, Global Head of TMT, Clifford Chance LLP; Simon Holden, Global Head of Telecoms, Goldman Sachs International; Tim Knowles, Head of M&A, Etisalat Group; and Christian Lesueur, Head of Telecoms EMEA, UBS; discussing how mergers and acquisitions, and transaction strategies are changing.

Over 70 speakers and 18 interactive sessions have been announced for TMT World Congress 2014 including sessions on TMT World Leadership Strategies; Innovation; Future of TMT; Digital Financial Services; CFO Strategies; Opportunities in M2M; Investing in Superfast Broadband; Raising Finance; Datacentres; Mobile Towers, Network Sharing and Emerging Markets Risk.
