Mckenzie, Quarles Named Producers of Claudette Robinson’s ‘The First Lady of Motown' Documentary

LOS ANGELES - Nov. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA – November 11, 2014 – Veronica Mckenzie from Reel Brit Productions in London and Los Angeles based producer Tiffany Quarles have been named Producers for the upcoming documentary film production of ‘The First Lady of Motown: The Claudette Robinson Story.’

“I’m excited to tell my story through this documentary as my time with and without ‘The Miracles’ was not only exciting but historic,” said Claudette Robinson, an original member and the only female member of the legendary group.  “My personal story is extremely unique and the addition of memorable never seen photography gathered during my time with ‘The Miracles’ will make for an amazing and engaging documentary,” said Claudette Robinson.

Claudette Robinson, who was married to Smokey Robinson, lead vocalist for ‘Smokey Robinson and The Miracles,’  was named ‘The First Lady of Motown’ by legendary Motown founder Berry Gordy.  And ‘The Miracles’ were the first group signed to the Motown label.

“I met Claudette Robinson and once I reviewed the depth of the content and the unique nature of her story I was energized to work with her on this project,” said Veronica Mckenzie, manager of Reel Brit Productions in London.  “When the ‘Motown Invasion’ arrived in London it was an iconic event and I am looking forward to telling Claudette Robinson’s story of the music that changed the world,” she continued.

“This is a great story and I’m extremely excited about this project and I am looking forward to creating an incredible documentary,” said independent producer Tiffany Quarles who will lead the production effort from Los Angeles.

‘The First Lady of Motown: The Claudette Robinson Story’ is set to begin production in Los Angeles in December and is expected to film in New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, the birthplace of the Motown sound, Detroit, Michigan and London.  Claudette Robinson is also writing a book in conjunction with the documentary project.
