The "Women Taking Control" Financial Seminar Series Presents "Philanthropic Giving”

SARASOTA, Fla. - Nov. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- Year-end charitable giving requires thoughtful consideration and advance planning, and must be completed by December 31. If you’re thinking about making a financial contribution to an organization near and dear to your heart, this seminar is for you.

Wealth advisor Sandy Keir of Suncoast Advisory Group and art gallery owner Francine DiFilippo of DiFilippo Kent will present a joint seminar for women on "Philanthropic Giving: The Gifts That Keep on Giving," Thursday, November 20, at the DeFilippo Kent gallery at 79 South Palm Avenue in Sarasota. The social hour begins at 5 p.m. The seminar will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

DiFilippo will discuss the process and requirements for gifting hard assets such as jewelry, antiques and art. Keir will discuss gifting cash and securities to a charity or donor advised fund, as well as reasons to set up a charitable remainder trust.

   This seminar will help participants understand:
-    Whether it’s better to gift hard assets or cash and securities
-    What documents you need to secure an income tax deduction
-    Why more than $13 billion went into Donor Advised Funds in 2013
-    How to receive retirement income from your donation
