Ormond Beach Anti-Bullying Advocate Recognized with Proclamation from Mayor Ed Kelley

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. - Nov. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- Mayor of the City of Ormond Beach, Ed Kelley, recently presented local constituent Ms. Jacqueline Waters with a Proclamation recognizing October as “National Bullying Prevention Month.”  Members of the City Commission, other dignitaries, and community supporters were in attendance during the October 21st meeting held in the Commission Chambers.

The Proclamation outlines a set of principles modeling a strong stance against harassment, bullying, and abuse in “neighborhoods, playgrounds, schools, and through technology, such as Internet and cell phones.” As Founder and CEO of the anti-bullying non-profit organization, "U" Niquely "U" Inc., Waters has been recognized for having a shared objective with the City of Ormond Beach of combating challenges associated with threatening peer relations in schools and within the community.

“I thank the Mayor and Commission for issuing this important Proclamation and making bullying awareness a priority,” stated Waters. Fueled by the significant increase of youth committing suicide attributed to bullying, Waters was moved to develop "U" Niquely "U" Inc. earlier this year with tailored programs that engage K-12 students and community. “Saving our children begins with candid discussions to help identify and embrace what makes us different, while empowering self-love and awareness. We must educate youth and offer a positive support system to avoid the pitfalls that can derail their lives.”
