FREDERICK, Md. - Nov. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- More than 400 science and technology leaders, 70 speakers and 42 exhibitors from government, business as well as academia will gather for theSMART PROC 2014 procurement and networking conference on Friday, November 14 at the FSK Holiday Inn in Frederick, Maryland between 8:00 am and 3:30 pm, according to event coordinator Debbie Burrell. Registration and networking begins at 7:00 am. Highlights of the SMART PROC 2014 Agenda include keynote remarks that open the conference between 8:00 am and 9:15 am with Senator Ben Cardin, Congressman John Delaney and key commanders at Fort Detrick, Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) and Fort Meade followed by opportunities to attend three of ten information sessions and a networking lunch. A wine and cheese reception in the Exhibit Hall featuring Frederick winery, Black Ankle Vineyards begins at 2:30 pm with closing remarks and a prize drawing at 3:30 pm.

         REGISTRATION INFORMATION Space is limited. Register online for free or discounted rates to reserve your space until November 13. Walk-in registration is on a space available basis with additional fees. Attendance is free for veterans, government employees as well as staff and students at academic institutions who pre-register online and present photo IDs or $10 at the door for on-site registration.  The registration fee for representatives of large businesses (500+ employees) is $35 for online registration, or $50 at the door. The fee for representatives of small business is $20 for pre-registration online or $30 at the door.

         SMART Executive Director Bob Carullo said, “SMART PROC 2014 is one of the most popular events for our members, but also attracts national science and technology leaders from government, business and academia along with international allies. They come because they know that SMART PROC provides a rare opportunity to share and acquire updates of procurement forecasts from key decision makers, network and build stronger relationships as well as develop teaming partnership opportunities.” Carullo noted, “Since 1999, SMART has conducted 282 significant events and facilitated $624 million in direct SMART projects and $1.2 billion in indirect projects.”

         KEYNOTE SESSION Keynote speakers at the SMART PROC 2014 opening session between 8:00 am and 9:15 am will be Senator Ben Cardin, Congressman John Delaney; MG Brian C. Lein, Commanding General, U.S. Army Medical Research & Materiel Command;  MG Joseph A. Brendler, US Army, US Cyber Command, Director of Plans & Policy and Acting Deputy CIO; Mr. John M. Tenaglia, SES, Deputy Director, Contract Policy & International Contracting, Office of Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology & Logistics (ATL); and Colonel Steven P. Middlecamp, US Army Garrison Commander at Fort Detrick, Maryland.
