Nov. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Insider's Guide to Campground Hosting in Florida Parks is a book written for full-time and part-time RVers who would like to try volunteer workamping in some of Florida's most beautiful public land areas. It is now available in paperback and eBook format and available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kobo eBooks, Smashwords, CreateSpace and more eBook and paperback outlets.

It lists every Florida State Park, Florida State Forests, Florida Wildlife Management Areas, Florida Water Management District Areas, Florida National Parks, Florida National Forests, U.S. Army Corp of Engineer Camping Areas in Florida and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Managment Areas that makes provisions for live on-site volunteer spaces with electric, water and sewer on-site or dumping station for free. They also may offer other amenities for the volunteers such as laundry services, firewood, canoe/kayak use, as well as the use of whatever facilities are available to normal visitors. We include the name, address, phone number, website, volunteer campsite information, amenities, volunteer duties and work hours required of the volunteers,

My mom and I are the two Southern Women in the "Our Great Adventure - 2 Southern Women Hit the Road". We have been traveling around the state of Florida for about 2 years and have been writing reviews, taking pictures and creating movies about each of the Florida State Parks we have visited and posted them to our website. We decided to begin volunteering as campground/park host positions with the state parks because they give us free campsites in exchange for about 20 hours per week helping them keep their parks clean, answer visitor's questions and perhaps teach classes on nature, pioneer skills, or assist in whatever event is being held during our time there.

Volunteer Workamping can help RVers with their monthly expenses in that they will not have to pay campsite fees, sometimes laundry, firewood and possibly even ice while they are working for the public land area. They will be able to stay in these areas from 30 to 120 days at a time and may even be able to come back every year. Being able to plan where you will be visiting or living during your travels can be helpful and lessen your stress level. It will definitely help your traveling budget. Most of all, you will see some of the most beautiful areas in Florida that not everyone may get to see.

The parks and/or public land areas will benefit from your service. Most, if not all,  of our public land areas in Florida need lots of volunteers to help keep the areas maintained, assist the park rangers with customer service, teaching, and resource management. You will learn about our Florida environmental issues, marine biology, forestry management, and Florida history. You will be a great help and you will have fun too.

We are hoping to encourage more Florida residents and university students to volunteer their summers with one of our public lands. Every one of the public areas we contacted are always looking for more live-on site volunteers from late spring to early fall. They still get visitors during those months and really need assistance during those times. It would be a great learning experience. You may even talk your professor into giving you extra credit for your volunteer time.

We would also love to encourage Florida teachers to try live on-site volunteering as well. Anyone who has a travel trailer/RV, a few months off, and would like to help would be great! But we believe that most teachers would benefit from volunteering in our Florida State Parks, Florida National Parks or any of the other public land areas. Again, learning more about our environment, biology and our historical places can only enhance your teaching experience for you and your students.
