CORBY, U.K. - Nov. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Over the years, Amaray’s commitment to its green initiatives; reduce, re-use and recycle has been clearly evident through structural design, the light weighting of products, and the re-use of Red Tag, the UK’s leading merchandising solution. In recycling, Amaray developed Closed Loop, an internal business process in which the residual waste and excess stock is re-used to make something new.

Plastic waste often occurs in manufacturing during colour purges, implementing new moulds and tools, completing tooling maintenance, and carrying out quality compliance checks. Closed Loop’s primary ambition is to successfully manage this waste, reducing it where possible and to gain the maximum value offered by this versatile material.

Whilst Closed Loop supports Amaray’s environmental and sustainability objectives it continues to help deliver further value to their customers. Historically, the home entertainment market has suffered with inventory management and sales forecasting. Over-estimating sales whilst retaining high levels of stock embraces high costs with financial risk. With Closed Loop, the excess inventory can be returned to Amaray to recycle and re-use in new customer specified products. The data extracted from the returned material is closely monitored as it is vitally important to ensure each customer receives maximum value and benefit from this service.

Amaray’s Closed Loop continues to target cost improvements in order to support their customers and the entire supply chain. Through waste reduction and material re-use, the demand for virgin material is controlled, inventory management becomes more efficient, and landfill is avoided.
