Follow on Google News | DC Crowdfunding Challenge Event to take place in Historic DC ChurchNational Crowdfunding Services to hold final DC Crowdfunding Challenge event of the year at Metropolitan AME Church on November 18th at 6:30 pm.
AGENDA William Michael Cunningham will describe the current environment for crowdfunding. We will have selected current and potential crowdfunders discuss their projects: Dega Schembri will describe the City Fitness Gym Campaign to "add new fitness equipment and to make this fitness innovation available to people in Washington, DC." We will discuss “Wanda's on 7th" a campaign to create a new type of peanut-oil based hair care solution. Uniontown Bar And Grill will discuss their campaign to bring Jazz to Anacostia. African Heritage Dancers & Drummers will discuss thier campaign to preserve the history of African Dance in the US. The event will be held at Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church, "known as 'The National Cathedral of African Methodism.' Founded in 1838, Metropolitan was formed by two existing churches: Israel Bethel A.M.E., founded in 1838. The parent A.M.E. Church movement grew out of an anti-segregation protest in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1787." On February 26, 1895, the funeral for Fredrick Douglas was held at the Church.
