80’s Cult Classics Icons Headlining Comic Con in Tulsa

Maskapade, (www.maskapade.com) purveyors of cosplayer apparel and accessories, is offering tickets for fans to meet the 80’s cult classic icons, hosted by Wizard World’s Comic Con on November 7,8, and 9th at the Cox Business Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The legendary William Shatner (Captain) from “Star Trek”, who also became the 1980’s TV hit “TJ Hooker”, will be accompanying actors from cult classics; Robert Englund  “Freddy Krueger” of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" who co-starred with the Tulsa native, Heather Langenkamp. Freddy’s iconic franchise grossed $455 million, extending to placements in the “Mortal Kombat” video game, “South Park” and dozens of cameos. Englund also played ‘Willie’ in the miniseries ‘V’. He will join his fellow horror icon, Ari Lehman from the original “Friday the 13th” known as the notorious “Jason”.

Among the horror-pop icons to attend is Ralph Macchio, widely known as the “The Karate Kid”.  His career kick started upon visiting Tulsa in 1983 to film "The Outsiders” along with Patrick Swayze, Tom Cruise, to Emilio Estevez.  Since, he has appeared in films; “Ugly Betty”, “My Cousin Vinny”, to the classic “Crossroads”, inspired by Robert Johnson, featuring Steve Vai. Macchio was also on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” Season 12 moving to the tunes of Dean Martin’s "Ain't That a Kick in the Head?"

Corey Feldman will also join the panel. He was ranked in the top ten list of VH1’s “100 Greatest Kid Stars” having roles in “The Goonies”, “Gremlins”, and “The Lost Boys” including “Friday the 13th”. Throughout the years, he guest-starred in “Alice,” “Eight is Enough,” “Mork and Mindy,” “The Love Boat” and “Cheers.” He is voice of Donatello in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and TMNT television series.

Ernie Hudson of “Ghostbusters” who is also a guest recently celebrated 30th anniversary on the November cover of Entertainment Weekly, reuniting with Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts. For the past 30 years,  Hudson has appeared on  “The Dukes of Hazzard”,  “The A-Team” and recently,  HBO’s “Oz”,“Heroes”, “Law & Order”, and “Desperate Housewives”.

Best left for last, not to make him angry, is the former Mr. Universe, Lou Ferrigno of the legendary “Incredible Hulk”. Who was the alter-ego of the character Dr. David Banner played by Bill Bixby. Ferrigno has appeared in “The King of Queens”, and “Hercules”.  He also played himself in “Celebrity Apprentice” and in the movie “I Love You, Man.”
