ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Nov. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Hunter Automotive Group recently received the North Carolina Area Council 2014 CARE (Children Are Reason for Excellence) Award.  This award is given to an individual or business not directly affiliated with a Club organization (such as serving on the governing body or Club staff), but has provided outstanding in-kind or direct support to their local Boys & Girls Clubs or Boys & Girls Clubs across the state.  This was the only CARE award given this year in North Carolina.

Through the last decade, Hunter Automotive Group has been our organization’s largest corporate donor, generously giving in excess of $140,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County. The relationship between the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County and Hunter Automotive Group began after a Club employee visited the dealership to buy a car. Before leaving, she asked to see the manager regarding his non-profit giving. To her surprise, she was granted a meeting immediately, and when she asked if the manager might be interested in a significant partnership with the Boys & Girls Club, the answer was yes.  That initial ‘yes’ created great momentum. The outcome was an unprecedented corporate pledge of $50,000, making Hunter Automotive Group the Club’s first ever “Business of Caring.” This landmark contribution stemmed from a new Club initiative dubbed Commerce for a Cause, says Julia Hockenberry
Assistant Executive Director
Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County.

Randy Hunter and his wife Alice attended the ceremony in Raleigh North Carolina where the award was presented.  “It is an honor for Hunter Automotive, but it is more of an honor to be able to help the children in the community we have served as a family over 70 years”, said Randy Hunter, Owner/Operator.

Hunter Automotive Group plans to continue supporting the Boys and Girls Club of Henderson County for years to come and looks forward exciting new ventures in 2015.  The Hunter Family of Dealerships includes Hunter Nissan, Hunter Subaru/Hyundai, Hunter Volvo and Hunter Power Sports.
