Follow on Google News | Boys and Girls Clubs of North Central Texas Announce Second Annual Awesome Big Kid FundraiserLocal business leaders compete for votes that will be converted to donations to help local at-risk youth.
By: Boys and Girls Clubs of North Central Texas “We’re excited about our second Awesome Big Kid Contest because it provides a wonderful opportunity to raise much needed funds for our Club Kids”, stated Babs Troutman, President of the Boys and Girls Clubs of North Central Texas. According to Troutman, seven individuals will be in competition for donations with each $20.00 donated equaling one vote. “We are so grateful that seven business people have stepped up to help our Club Members by donating their time and becoming advocates for our club”, Troutman said. Each Awesome Big Kid contestant is teamed up with a Boys and Girls Clubs of North Central Texas Club Member to assist in receiving donations. The Awesome Big Kid contest runs from November 1, 2014 into December 13, 2014 culminating in the winner being announced at the Awesome Big Kid Banquet on Saturday, December 13, 2014. Individuals wishing to vote for a contestant may do so by visiting www.AwesomeBigKid.com. Tickets and sponsorships for the Awesome Big Kid Banquet are available and 50% of the cost will be designated to the team of their choice. The 2015 Awesome Big Kid participants are: Jennifer Gordon (QuickShip & Cowboy House), John Heusinkeld (ID Life), Bertha Hurels (Restland Chapel), Mayor Peggy Krueger (Willow Bend Mortgage), Michelle McLaren (IPA Family), Christopher McLucas (Paradise Settlements) About the Boys and Girls Clubs of North Central Texas The Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Texas is a non-profit 501(c)( 3) charitable organization headquartered in Lake Dallas, Texas providing services to local youth to ensure they have the resources and opportunities available to become the best they can be.
