SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Nov. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Sacramento, California hip-hop/rock duo, D.U.S.T., releases their new music video for their latest single, “Krank Me Up.” The video was shot at Box Fit Elite Gym in Stockton, California by filmmaker, Shelly Hollis.

The song is upbeat and energetic and meant to motivate people while they’re working out, or just out there making things happen on their daily grind.  The original electric guitars and bass line along with the sampled drums on the track are reminiscent of 70’s hard rock groups like AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. The lyrics are based on personal experiences and a desire to inspire others. “Krank Me Up” is the first single of their soon-to-be released EP, Guitars Strings & Loose Leafs.

About the Band:

D.U.S.T. is an acronym that stands for "Doing Underground Songs Together." Raised in the chilled-out, sun-drenched culture of California and influenced by the eclectic voices of hip-hop, classic rock, R&B, and electronica, D.U.S.T. brings a fresh voice to the world of contemporary music.

Consisting of the London-born duo of emcee Raja Seivwright, and multi-instrumentalist/singer Rob McCord, the D.U.S.T. project grew out of a desire to create a distinctive hybrid sound that combines the playing of real instruments and melodic hooks with sampled drum loops and laidback raps.  They’re sound has been described as a mellower version of Rage Against the Machine.

After honing their unique ability to orchestrate heavily synthesized songs into a live band format as part of the short-lived cover band “Sureshot”, Raja and Rob began collaborating on original material that fused the heartfelt emotional side of hip-hop with the breezy optimistic side of pop music.

Their main influences include: Gang Starr, A Tribe Called Quest, Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, Sublime, Beck, Sade, Linkin Park, Jay-Z, Gym Class Heroes, and The Roots.
