International Actor Features in UK Release of "Allies"

Nov. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- LONDON and LEEDS, Nov. 3rd, 2014 - International actor Ashley Tabatabai can be seen in the upcoming World War 2 Film "Allies". The movie, which is released globally today stars Julian Ovenden and Chris Reilly, and was directed by British filmmaker Dominic Burns.

Tabatabai is based between the UK and Los Angeles. He was brought onto the project earlier this year playing the role of an American Commander. "This was for one of the climactic scenes at the end of the film. So, Dominic (the director) needed someone who could help capture that pivotal moment", says Ashley.

His malleability as a performer means is more often than not a prime candidate for opportunities on projects of this size. The movie was produced for an estimated $3m and shot on location across the UK. It follows the story of a team of British soldiers dropped behind enemy lines in France. They are lead by a US captain and are on a mission that could shorten the war. "The scale of the project was very ambitious and what has been produced is really incredible", says Ashley.

It's a great promotion for independent film in the UK. Ashley affirms that there is lots of great talent in the UK. And his experience is that who you know does matter, but your ability is ultimately what gets you the work on an ongoing basis. "I was referred to the Casting Director on Allies by an actor friend. That got me in the door. They then reviewed some of my previous work and offered me the role. I'd like to think that's because of the quality of what I've done to date".

After Allies, the actor has a feature film that he has developed with British based filmmakers, bringing together talent between London and Leeds. "There is a lot of great filmmakers across the entire of the country", he says. That's a notion that becomes very clear when you watch Derby's Dominic Burns' feature Allies.
