TAMPA, Fla. - Oct. 27, 2014 - PRLog -- The third in a series of Bible Camp mysteries, Disaster on the River, is set for release November 1. In the book, Jeff and Chang become separated from the gorup in a rainstorm, testing their faith and friendship.

"It's downhill from there, as the group encounters snakes, alligators, and a few more surprises," says author Cheryl Rogers.

The third trip into the backwoods is the most adventurous yet for The Boy's Den, a youth group of the fictitious Living Water Community Church. Like never before, the youths test their survival skills. Two boys surrender their lives to Christ, and everyone learns about God’s love and provision, even in the backwoods.

The mystery series features a former New York gang leader, Chet Harrigan, who now leads The Boy's Den.“Chet does his level best to prepare for these Bible Camps, but the unexpected always happens,” Rogers says.

Trouble seems to follow the youths. In the first ebook, Lost in the Woods: A Bible Camp Mystery, 13-year-old Zack disappeared in the middle of the night. Then a hurricane threatened. In the second ebook, Alone in the Woods, the boys encounter a mysterious woman living far off the hiking trail. Everyone seems to get lost, and a forest fire threatens the forest and nearby homes.

The goal of the Bible Camp Mystery series is to teach the biblical path to salvation in a fun and entertaining way. Readers also learn the importance of prayer and obedience.

Rogers voraciously read Nancy Drew and Hardy Boy mysteries as a child. As a result, she decided to become a writer.

“I wanted a steady paycheck, so I worked as a newspaper reporter for many years,” Rogers says. “But when I succumbed to a serious immune disorder, and God delivered me, I realized what I was supposed to write about.”

Now Rogers writes fiction and nonfiction for readers of all ages to share her faith. The Bible Camp Mystery series brings her full circle, as she is able to share her love of mysteries and her faith.

Her other titles include Just Like Jonah Wail Tales, a short story collection featuring modern Jonahs who learn the hard way, just like Jonah, that there’s a price to pay when you disobey. I Can See Storybook Treasury is a collection of short stories that help defeat doubt about God that develops as children grow. Her devotions book, Fast Track to Victory, A Christian Guidebook, shares biblical truths we all need to live a victorious lifestyle. It’s aimed at new, and young, Christians -- and is presented in a non-denominational format.
