SEM Link a participating charity in 3rd Annual “Georgia Gives Day” on November 13

ATLANTA - Oct. 28, 2014 - PRLog -- Science, Engineering and Mathematics Link Inc. (SEM Link), will kick off its “End of the Year Giving Campaign” in its 3^rd year as a participating charity in “Georgia Gives Day” on November 13, the Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN) the statewide day of giving. The purpose of Georgia Gives Day is to bring the state together as one community, to raise as much money and awareness as possible for Georgia nonprofits within a 24-hour, flash mob of giving. One hundred percent of proceeds will go directly to participating nonprofits through Georgia Gives Day Website, www.gagivesday.org. SEM Link was founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 2005 and its mission is to promote student achievement and career exploration in math and science while increasing student exposure to the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) communities.  SEM Link’s two core program model, Experimental Design Program and Math and Science Career Academy, enhances the STEM educational experience for K-12 students by providing them with opportunities to engage in hands-on STEM activities, explore STEM careers and learn about real-world applications of STEM. SEM Link’s program activities include our Annual STEM career fairs in Atlanta and Oakland, hands on activities in classrooms and after-school programs during STEM themed weeks such as National Chemistry Week, engaging families in hands on STEM activities at community events such as US Science and Engineering Festival. “As a Georgia based national nonprofit organization, we thought it was a great idea to kick off our End of the Year Giving Campaign on Georgia Gives Day” stated Ms. Tokiwa T.
