BOSTON - Oct. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- BOSTON FLUTE ACADEMY PRESENTS Piccolo Virtuoso Jean-Louis Beaumadier in his BOSTON DEBUT CONCERT

Boston Flute Academy presents piccolo virtuoso Jean-Louis Beaumadier in his Boston debut recital, following his New York concert at Carnegie Hall.  Beaumadier will perform with Veronique Poltz at the piano. Needham residents Brendan V. Ryan and Amy Lipman will perform flute solos to open the concert, with Deborah DeWolf Emery at the piano.  The Maliotis Chamber Players conducted by David Houston will also perform.  Concert takes place at the Boston Flute Academy in Brookline, on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 4:00 p.m.  The recital event will also include a special interview with Jean-Louis Beaumadier onstage. The concert is free and open to the public.

ABOUT JEAN-LOUIS BEAUMADIER

Jean-Louis Beaumadier is one of the foremost representatives of piccolo in the world.  He studied flute with Joseph Rampal at the Marseille Conservatory and with Jean-Pierre Rampal at the National Superior Conservatory in Paris.  He performed as a piccolo soloist with the National Orchestra of France for twelve years. Highly demanded as a soloist, he has performed in England,Japan, the United States, Germany, Spain, Brazil, and Italy as well as over one thousand concerts throughout France. Today, he continues to tour and perform around the world.  In his Boston debut concert, Beaumadier will be joined by pianist Veronique Poltz, professor of Composition and Orchestration at the Conservatory of Marseille, France.

About Boston Flute Academy Artist-in-Residence Brendan V. Ryan

At the age of twenty-five, Brendan V. Ryan is an exciting up-and-coming flutist who has performed in concert halls across the world. Mr. Ryan was a First Prize winner in the 2013 Alexander Buono International Flute Competition and was thusly offered a solo performance in Carnegie Hall in October of 2013. He is originally from Needham, Massachusetts, and studied with Boston flutist Judy Grant throughout high school. In 2012, Mr Ryan graduated with honors from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Music degree as a student of Jim Walker, former Principal Flutist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Mr. Ryan also spent a year at Carnegie Mellon University where he studied under Jeannie Baxtresser, former New York Philharmonic Principal Flutist and Alberto Almarza. He recently completed his Master of Music degree at the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied with soloist and former Boston Symphony Orchestra Acting Principal Flutist, Marianne Gedigian. Mr Ryan is currently Artist-in-Residence at Boston Flute Academy. In Saturday’s performance, he will be joined by pianist Deborah DeWolf Emery of the BFA faculty.

About Boston Flute Academy Young Artist Amy Lipman

Seventeen-year old Amy Lipman is from Needham, MA and currently a senior at Needham High School.  She has been a member of the Boston Youth Symphony since tenth grade and has performed in Boston's historic Symphony Hall as principal flute with BYS under conductor Federico Cortese.  Amy studies flute with Judy Grant at the Boston Flute Academy, where she was recently named BFA Young Artist.  She has also been a member of the BFA Conservatory Ensemble & Seminar for the past 3 years and has participated in the BFA Mentoring Program.  As an 11th grader, Amy was selected for the MA All-State Orchestra as well as the National Honors Orchestra.  At Boston Flute Academy, Amy has had the honor of playing in masterclasses for a number of world class flutists, including BSO Principal Flute Elizabeth Rowe, London Symphony Principal Flute Paul Edmund Davies, and the legendary Sir James Galway.

Her vision was a supportive flute community where the finest teachers and world-class guest artists would be accessible to all ages and levels of students.
