Follow on Google News | NYCollegeChat Free Podcast for Parents LaunchesA free podcast that lets parents in on how to navigate the world of college for their college-bound high schoolers has just launched. Designed especially for New York parents, all episodes are available at www.nycollegechat.org.
During the 2014-2015 school year, NYCollegeChat will focus on helping families understand the enormous number of college options, choose where to apply, think through college applications, meet deadlines, and make an enrollment decision. The podcast offers general advice as well as information about specific colleges and universities both in New York and around the U.S.—from small private colleges to large public universities to community colleges to HBCUs to military service academies to faith-based institutions to colleges that serve students with special needs to colleges that focus on selected academic fields, like fine arts and business. A service of Policy Studies in Education, a nonprofit with 40 years of experience working with school districts and colleges across the U.S., NYCollegeChat is co-hosted by Regina H. Paul and Marie Segares, who recently helped to found one of the most innovative and successful Early College high schools in New York City. Together, they have trained and advised thousands of students and parents, written high school curricula for hundreds of high schools, done market studies for over 200 colleges, and developed programs and taught at colleges live and online.
