On International Mens Day US author and MensLine Australia team up to fight male suicide

MELBOURNE, Australia - Nov. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- On International Men’s Day, Josh Rivedal; a New York City author, suicide prevention specialist, and international public speaker, is teaming up with MensLine Australia to fight male suicide.

Josh and MensLine will be taking questions and discussing male suicide, depression, mental health, and how and where to get help via a live Google Chat on 19 November at 1230p/1030a AEDT/AWST. On the same day, Josh will be releasing a second edition of his memoir, The Gospel According to Josh: A 28-Year Gentile Bar Mitzvah, to benefit MensLine Australia. Twenty-five percent of proceeds from this edition with a foreword written by MensLine Australia will be donated to MensLine Australia. Australian actor John Howard said about the book, “Josh writes with such humour, insight, and courage that his book is a must read. When Josh Rivedal’s story came to our attention, we weren’t quite sure what to expect,” says MensLine. “Why would a young American be contacting MensLine Australia? What would we have in common? Josh’s story is not unique to young American men, it’s a story faced by men throughout the world.

“Both my father and grandfather lost their lives to suicide,” says author Rivedal. “I nearly lost my own life in 2011 to suicide. I appreciate what MensLine is doing for men in Australia by providing resources of support that my father and grandfather didn’t know to look for.”
