Park City Television Wins 2 Emmy Awards
PARK CITY UTAH – Park City Television won two Emmy Awards from the Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences on Saturday night.
Park City Television's first award of the evening was in the category of “Photography – non-news” and recognized Aaron Springston and Michael Pantzer for their work on an hour documentary entitled “Salt Flats 100 Endurance Marathon”. Later on in the evening, Park City Television and Michael Pantzer were once again awarded for this documentary, this time in the area of “Writing – non news”.
“As we started developing the show, we knew this was a unique story in the world of outdoor sports.” Said writer, shooter and editor, Michael Pantzer. “I felt like I was on another planet because I was dozens of miles away from civilization, in a desolate location, by myself. Then all of a sudden, a runner would appear on the horizon. When they approached, I felt like an alien was running towards me.”
Park City Television's Director of Production, Aaron Springston commented, “It's an honor to have our work recognized for the beautiful and inspiring images we captured at the Salt Flats 100. I consider it a privilege to tell the stories of those who choose a road less traveled and challenge themselves to achieve feats that others would never dare.”
The Emmy Award honors excellence in television production in various sectors of the television industry, including entertainment programming, news and documentary shows and sports programming. The awards are presented in various area-specific ceremonies held annually throughout the year.
Park City Television will re-air the award winning documentary in its entirety October 25th and 26th at 7, 8 and 9am on Comcast channels 17 and 102, over the air locally on 45.1 and streaming online at ParkCity.TV. For more information about Park City Television, please contact Tiffany Fox.
