CHICAGO songbird Camisha & CHICAGO power producer KaJun - in Studio working on exciting new album
'This Joy That I Have' was her first Church solo, at age 4. By age 10, she was musically responsible for 3 Choirs - even as a child, Camisha Gardner clearly knew her calling. Currently she is in-Studio recording her debut Album, w/ Producer, Kajun.

Camisha Gardner is the highly versatile and talented Vocalist / Gospel Artist from Chicago, who has an unusually rare and special gift: the voice of an anointed Angel, with a very special calling. I caught up with her just as she was about to step into the Studio with her producer and trusted cousin Kajun, to finish work on her Debut album. She is candid and direct, not in the least bit timid:
"There were so many times I just wanted to give up, let go, and forget my dream; each time however there was someone who would call me right back to it, just as if it were a higher force calling" (Thank you Oscar Seaton for being the voice God used).
Kajun is the chosen powerhouse producer who is overseeing the production of this complex, but very special album. He is by no means a stranger to the studio, or music scene; the fact of his having worked on respected musical projects with superstar talents of the likes of Ludacris, Trey Songz, Avant, Jeremih, Ron Isley, KeKe Wyatt, Syleena Johnson, Drew Sidora, Willie Taylor (Day 26), Do or Die, GLC ( as Producer/SongWriter Credits for LA Reid Music Publishing/EMI/
Likewise, Camisha shares the same level of enthusiasm and joy in working with Kajun himself: "This has been one of the most fun and enlightening musical experiences for me personally, with Kajun as my producer. I have been able to discover parts of my musical artistry that I myself never knew before. He is a consummate genius, as far as I am concerned. I'm also working with Isalena Elliott songwriter for Tyrese and Mary Mary. I do think of Aretha Franklin, Lalah Hathaway, Patti LaBelle, and Kim Burrell as four of the greatest voices, ever. I have been inspired and deeply moved by these ladies for they have their own unique way of sharing a song 'any song' with the World and make a memorable statement each and every time. It's not hard to understand how they became the best in Music, and that's where I want to be someday, at that level of mastery".
Asking Kajun if he feels there are any comparable similarities between Camisha and her favorite music idols, Kajun answers without hesitation: "yes, I see the same level of class, same elegance, ambition, and same creative musical calibre".
At one point in her career, Camisha began working with Mr. Ray Copeland who is very well known in the industry for being close uncle and Business Manager to DMX. It became a friendship that endured well though the years and is active much to this day - Uncle Ray had this to say about his memories with Camisha: "I have known her since the late 90's , and even back then she showed a very unique tone and strong vocal control. Her time is her own and when people realize it she will shine as the superstar that she very clearly is. She already did some amazing work with Dave Hollister and with BadBoy's 'Piano Man'. We still keep in touch to this day. She is a dear friend and very talented lady who is always in Church, singing something amazing".
Camisha recalls her early years of being involved with music: "being responsible for 3 Church Choirs by the age of 10 definitely placed me in a working and learning environment that solidified my destiny. At the age of 12 I started singing in the quartet with my mother and uncles called 'the Mighty Majestics' and I was the second lead singer. I realized during that time, as we traveled the state, that it is not difficult to do anything once you know the Lord is pleased with you. When you get blessed from above, your life changes and you are no longer the same. I want to bring everyone to the Lord. I am a better person every day than I was yesterday, and I want everyone else in the World to know they can be too."
At this present time in her career Camisha has given Philadelphia's Damascene Pierre Paul the important role of her Manager and Mentor. "I really have to thank Mr. Damascene for his professionalism, managerial skills, and inexplainable class and kindness. Since I reached out to him to tell him I am singing again and using my God given gift, he strongly believed in me as a person and supported me as an artist. Thank you, Mr Damascene for sharing so much more than just your resources, knowledge, and many words of encouragement. Thank you for believing in me and I look forward to so many great things, just ahead."
Just hear her amazing voice, even one time, and you will understand all the talk about her. Ms. Camisha Gardner - We thank you for sharing your amazing gift with the World.
