First academy for law enforcement civilians held in Miami, FL

MIAMI - Oct. 16, 2014 - PRLog -- The Forensic Foundation Group (Lansing, Michigan) hosted its first Administration and Leadership Academy for Law Enforcement Civilians at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) in Miami, Florida.  The school was held on Monday and Tuesday October 13^th and 14^th with approximately 85 students in attendance, all represented law enforcement agencies in the state of Florida.  A special session on advanced forensic science topics was held on Wednesday October 15^th with approximately 50 students in attendance.  John M. Collins Jr., president and founder of the Forensic Foundations Group, was the instructor for all three days.  Detailed feedback surveys were completed by students at the end of the academy.

According to Collins, the academy received “high praise” for the quality of the curriculum.  “Many students told us that it was among the best workshops they had ever attended.”

The Administration and Leadership Academy for Law Enforcement Civilians was designed to teach critical competencies and contemporary perspectives to non-sworn police employees.  Approximately 30% of all police employees are civilians but they are often overlooked when training and continuing education are administered.

The Forensic Foundations Group is currently planning additional schools through the remainder of 2014 and 2015.
