My Neighborhood Storage Center Partners With Local Charity BASE Camp

ORLANDO, Fla. - Oct. 16, 2014 - PRLog -- My Neighborhood Storage Center will be giving back to Central Florida in a big way. The company recently announced its partnership with BASE Camp Children's Cancer Foundation; a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing year-round support for children and families who are facing the challenge of living with cancer and other life-threatening hematological illnesses.  Terri Jones, President, Founder and Program Director of BASE Camp expressed her excitement about the possibilities that the partnership will have on improving the much needed resources and impact of the organization. “I want to thank My Neighborhood Storage Center for making a difference in a child's life! Funding from this project will deliver smiles to many children fighting cancer!”

To help facilitate My Neighborhood Storage Center’s philanthropic endeavors they will be registering with the storage industries most popular fundraising program Charity Storage. Charity Storage utilizes existing storage facility operations, namely storage units and auctions, to raise money to benefit the community. Participating storage operators dedicate a storage unit from inventory as a collection point for donated goods. Departing tenants, current tenants, auction buyers, and local residents and businesses can donate items to the Charity Storage Unit and receive a tax deductible receipt. When the storage facility holds a public auction the Charity Storage Unit is sold and the revenue allocated to local and national charities.

Sixty percent of all net proceeds will be donated to BASE Camp; while 30% goes to Kure It Cancer Research and the remaining 10% will benefit the Self-Storage Association Foundation. To kick start fundraising the company will be having a “DE clutter – DE feat Cancer Day” at their Lake Brantley facility located at 2800 State Rd. 434 in Longwood FL. The event takes place on Saturday, November 15^th starting at 10AM. Tenants and members of the community are asked to donate items for the charity unit.
