Largest Gay Halloween Dance Party Returns To Salem in Search of Official Scream Queen

SALEM, Mass. - Oct. 16, 2014 - PRLog -- Promotional events platform, Go Out Loud, added new personalities, pricing and details for #ScreamOutLoud: Search for Salem’s Next Official Scream Queen! Brought to you by Redd’s Wicked Apple, an outrageous dance party event, with music by Kiss 108’s DJ Gay Jim Clerkin, blood-red carpet correspondent RuPaul Drag Race star Joslyn Fox, with a new competition format to pronounce the next “Official Scream Queen of  Salem,” as declared by celebrity guest judges Debra Macki (Celebrity Makeup Artist), Scott Kearnan (Boston Spirit Magazine Lifestyle Editor) and returning winner, cult icon and featured performer, Sharon Needles, premiering at the Hawthorne Hotel’s Grand Ballroom, located at 18 Washington Square W, Salem, MA 01970, on Friday October 24th from 6PM until close.

“I’ve always loved Salem, and I love the title of Scream Queen,” said Sharon Needles, Season 4 winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race. “A Scream Queen is a beautiful, bad actress who’s really good at screaming, but it also represents standing up for equality and anti-bullying for LGBT youth. Whomever takes the title next better possess ghoulishly good qualities or I may just hold onto  the crown again for safe keeping!”

The event will transform Salem’s historic Hawthorne Hotel in into a haunted dance club with a drag race style competition between thirteen contestants vying for the 2014 Official Scream Queen title, including Anaol Fetale, Bernadette Stake, King Chris Rod, Emphysema Menthol 100s, Fena Barbital, Kurt Fowl, Rainbow Frite, Violencia Exclamation Point, and additional social media contestants to be added later this month through a special contest aimed at regional talent.

“Sharon Needles is the ultimate Queen of Halloween. We were honored to crown her last year as Salem’s inaugural Official Scream Queen of Salem ceremony for her creative genius and commitment to LGBT youth,” said Kevin Letourneau, Go Out Loud CEO and founder. “Sharon will be leaving behind big heels to fill, but with the 13 contestants we have selected, we’re confident that Salem will  have the perfect candidate to represent the spirit of Halloween and their non-profit mission of choice throughout the upcoming year.
