CCD 30th Anniversary Success with Congresswoman Janice Hahn & Congressman Alan Lowenthal

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Oct. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- This past Saturday many community members and representatives joined Comprehensive Child Development, Inc. (CCD) on the 14^th floor of the Union Bank building on Ocean Blvd (at Keesal, Young & Logan). The view was beautiful, the scene was vibrant, and the event was a huge success. In attendance were local Councilmen Al Austin (District 8) and Roberto Uranga (District 7), Congressman Alan Lowenthal, Congresswoman Janice Hahn, Long Beach Port Commissioner Rich Dines, and many more. The event honored the amazing work both Congressmen have done for the health, safety, and education of children in Long Beach, San Pedro, and Wilmington. PICTURES ATTACHED.

The event was sponsored by the Port of Long Beach, Pasha Stevedoring & Terminals, and Stone Hatcher Financial with major donors being BNSF Railway, Tammie Kyle, and Community Works Consulting, Inc.

The program concluded with a Lifetime Achievement Award to the retiring Executive Director of Comprehensive Child Development, Inc., Tammie Kyle. This was presented by Richard Stember, former Board Chair of CCD and current Board Chair Emeritus of the Auxiliary Committee. In honor of Tammie’s 30 years of dedication to the children and families of the Long Beach and Los Angeles Harbor communities, the Board of Directors and staff dedicated one of the agency’s five child development centers to Tammie Kyle.

Comprehensive Child Development, Inc. is so pleased over 150 guests were able to come help celebrate the occasion and assist in raising close to $25,000 to continue the mission of providing affordable and transformational education and nutrition programs to advance the future of pre-school children and their working families striving for self-sufficiency.

We thank all of the supporters that helped make this anniversary special. Especially our board, staff, and dedicated community volunteers.
