Booming sales in the ‘80s and ‘90s brought on increased labor demands and a move from Minnesota to South Dakota. “We could pre-build a little, but we were so desperate for employees my husband would come in and work shifts,” recalls purchasing director Cindy Veness. Lapses in Chinese production brought on two recalls in the 2000s. Then, the Great Recession hit. Now recovering, Rainbow moves on. With the past still in their minds, CEO Greg Foster and the Rainbow family continue to balance the Rainbow brand while pursuing his dream that revolutionized the swing set.
