-- Lou Nemnom, President & CEO of Westchester Visiting Nurse Services Group, Inc., the parent organization of VNS Westchester and Westchester Care at Home, today announced new staff appointments at the respective agencies.Denise Massaro
(pictured at left above), joined VNS Westchester, the Group’s Certified Home Health Care Agency, in September as Assistant Director of Patient Services (ADPS). Ms. Massaro brings twenty years of clinical, supervisory and management experience to her new role. She most recently served as Clinical Director and, prior to that, Compliance Specialist at Visiting Nurse Service in New York’s (VNSNY) Nassau County Division. During her tenure at VNSNY she earned the ESPIRIT Excellence Award, among other service honors, for her dedication to excellence in patient care. Ms. Massaro holds a BSN (cum laude) and MSN from Pace University’s Lienhard School of Nursing. She recently received Board Certification in Gerontological Nursing from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). As ADPS at VNS Westchester, Ms. Massaro assists in the direction and coordination of the clinical operations of the agency, including all activities related to the delivery of high quality, cost effective care to over 8,000 patients annually.Katherine Browne
(pictured at right above), assumed the role of Administrator of Westchester Care at Home (WCAH), the Group’s New York State Licensed Home Care Agency, on October 1st
, succeeding Karen T. LaMonica who recently retired after 11 years in the position. Ms. Browne is a Registered Nurse who holds a BSN from Lehman College and an MPA from New York University’s Wagner School of Public Administration. She has extensive leadership experience, and has implemented successful quality improvement and business development initiatives at several home health care agencies, including most recently at Visiting Nurse Service of New York and Continuum Hospice Care. In her new position, Ms. Browne will build on the recent expansion of WCAH’s home health aide services to residents in the Bronx, Dutchess and Rockland counties (in addition to Westchester and Putnam) to meet growing needs among the elderly to age safely at home.
According to Nemnom, “Both Denise and Katherine possess a depth of clinical knowledge and the high-level management skills that, in conjunction with our current staff, will facilitate our continued growth and success in the provision of exemplary home care services to residents in our five-county service area. Their experience working collaboratively with other health care providers in the region will further our goals of delivering coordinated home healthcare and preventative services in today’s complex healthcare arena.
